About

A personal notebook of medicine, myth, technology, and the inner life.

I’m Acre. I write about classical Chinese medicine, ecology, and the inner life—the places where a body meets its weather. This is a thoughts stream: essays and notes, posted as they acquire enough shape to be useful.

This site is a personal notebook. The essays are attempts to think something through slowly. There is no schedule; things appear when they are ready.

The through-line is an interest in what standardization leaves out: the particular body, the particular season, the particular life.

Nothing here is medical advice. It is one person’s reading, practice, and record of attention.

This site

A quiet corner of the web, built for reading rather than scrolling. The form owes something to the long-running personal sites of the old web, especially Gwern.net: text first, references close at hand, and pages that stay put.

No trackers, cookies, comments, or pop-ups. RSS is the only subscription. Everything is static HTML and readable without JavaScript.

Colophon

Set in Source Serif 4 and Source Sans 3. Built with Astro and deployed as static files. No client-side framework, no third-party requests, no analytics.
